Find answers to common questions and learn how to get the most out of addy.io

If you see addy.io aliases or the service being used for abuse (e.g. spam, phishing, or other prohibited use), you can report it. addy.io does not permit abusive behaviour and may suspend or terminate accounts that violate the terms. This article explains what counts as abuse and how to report it. For sites that block addy.io domains, see Report a website that is blocking addy.io alias domains.

Examples of abuse that are not permitted

  • Bulk, scripted or bot signups - Creating many accounts or aliases automatically to abuse services.
  • Coupon or discount code harvesting - Using aliases solely to collect one-time codes or offers at scale.
  • Bulk messaging - Sending large volumes of unsolicited or automated messages.
  • Mass registrations for third-party services - Signing up repeatedly (e.g. with many aliases) to abuse another service's offers or systems.
  • Unsolicited or spam emails - Sending spam or marketing to people who did not consent.
  • Phishing or impersonation - Attempting to steal credentials or impersonating other companies or services.
  • Malware or viruses - Sending malicious software or links.
  • Criminal activity - Including blackmail, fraud or other illegal use.

This list is not exhaustive. addy.io's terms of use and anti-abuse measures apply to all users.

How to report abuse

  1. Gather details that will help addy.io investigate: the addy.io alias or domain involved, sample emails or headers (if you received abuse), dates, and a short description of the behaviour.
